Guesthouses, hotels, and AirBnBs are dotted all over Sea Point on the Atlantic Seaboard – but a new, chic addition to bustling Regent Road, is Latitude, an Aparthotel by Totalstay.
Situated on the cusp of Sea Point and Bantry Bay this contemporary space is home to 32 fully serviced, state-of-the-art apartments with all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable and stylish.
There are one, two, and three-bedroom apartments – both sea-facing and mountain-facing as well as an luxurious penthouse on the ninth floor.
We had the pleasure of staying in a spacious three-bedroom apartment – ideal for a group of friends with enough privacy for all, or a family of up to six. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms – complete with shower and bath and luxurious underfloor heating. There is also an additional bathroom right next to the third bedroom, which is ideal for the kids.
The open plan space is elegant with lots of natural light streaming in and adding to the warmth of the modern space. The fully-kitted kitchen has all the appliances you need for those extended stays while the dining area can comfortably accommodate up to eight people. There are three smart TVs in the apartment along with high-speed Wifi, in-room safes for your valuables, braai facilities on the balcony, as well as daily housekeeping (because who feels like cleaning up when you’re on vacation?)
The three-bedroom apartment also has a special nook where you can work. And, if that’s not what you’re after, you can book one of the Aparthotel’s tranquil co-working spaces on the ninth floor.
In addition, you will also find the pool deck, a boardroom, meeting rooms and the penthouse (with its own private deck and pool) on the ninth floor.
While the apartments have all the self-catering amenities you need, you can grab breakfast or any of your other meals at the chic Latitude café. The dining space on the rooftop is ideal for intimate occasions and boasts an outdoor seating area with lush green touches and panoramic views of the ocean in front of you and the majestic Lion’s Head behind you.
Worth a mention is that the establishment supports local talent, and most of the furniture and all the art in the apartments are locally sourced from South African craftsmen and artists – many based in the Mother City.
One of the best things about Latitude Aparthotel is its location. It is a short walk from the MyCiti bus stops, close to plenty of restaurants that caters to all tastes (from sushi to schwarmas) and convenience stores. Grab a cab or Uber to V&A Waterfront and arrive five minutes later or head in the opposite direction toward Camps Bay and arrive at the pristine beaches of Clifton about seven minutes later.
