About the Area
Blaauwberg, or “Blouberg” – meaning Blue Mountain – as it is affectionately known to locals, is an idyllic stretch of coastline located just a short drive from the city centre of Cape Town.
Bloubergstrand, or Blaauwberg Beach, is the main focal point of the area and is popular with surfers, sunbathers and picture-seekers thanks to its spectacular views of Table Mountain. Big Bay, another Blaauwberg highlight, is also a top spot for water sports enthusiasts. Kitesurfing is particularly popular here, and on any given day you’ll see daredevils tearing across the waves.
This area is home to some excellent restaurants and pubs, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view.Whether you’re looking for adventure or simply want to relax and soak up the stunning views, Blaauwberg has something for everyone.
