Halloween in Cape Town

Halloween is almost upon us, and we’ve put together a list of Cape Town’s eeriest events, from frightening forest runs to creepy costume-making workshops. So without further ado, here’s where to find your fellow creatures of the night this October.

Zombie Walk South Africa

The annual Zombie Walk is a sight to behold—hundreds of people dress to the undead-nines and take to the streets to stagger through the city snarling and groaning. The event is pet friendly, so feel free to bring freaky Fido along. The walk is free, and tickets go for the after party go for R80—proceeds go towards helping abused and neglected animals. The after party is the stuff of legends, so if you’re a Halloween fan, don’t miss it.

Halloween Disco Party at The 41

The 41 will transform into the Twilight Zone this Halloween. The night of ghostly festivities and celebrations wfeatures DJ Rene with some of the best Old-School Disco hits ever. Candy floss cocktail with Cruz Vodka are available, as well as an a la carte dinner, tapas, burgers, pizzas, and sushi.

Haunted Harbour Halloween – Shimmy Beach Club

Shimmy Beach Club will be hosting a halloween party this year with a line-up including Strange loving, Mogey, Dane Stirrat, Minx D, Dillyn Will.

Halloween at The Galileo Open Air Cinema

Enjoy a night of thrills under the stars in the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens this halloween. Dress up in your most creative costumes and stand a chance to win some awesome prizes. The event promises to be an unforgettable evening under the stars, complete with super scary decor to match the Halloween theme. The movie that will be screening is the 2017 remake of IT.

Halloween Mystery Game Event – An Enchanted Nightmare

You were invited to attend the reading of the last will and testament of Dr. Jack Ripper. His last request was for beneficiaries to gather at his estate for one last dinner before the reading. The last thing you remember is having drinks in the library before everything changed…. Join the nightmare and try to solve this enchanted mystery. The dress code is “Twisted Fairy-Tale Characters”, and the evening includes a three-course dinner.

South African Horrorfest

The South African Horrorfest takes place at the Labia Theatre every Halloween. Expect new, classic and rare movies, pre-release screenings, live soundtrack performances, and Halloween dress up giveaways.

After Dark Invasion: Zombie Obstacle Run

For those who like their scares with a side of fitness, join this 6km fun run teeming with Zombies. Tackle an obstacle course that will test your strength and endurance. Food trucks are available for after the run.
