Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay - About the Neighbourhood

Situated on the world-renown Garden Route, Mossel Bay is a beautiful harbour town and popular tourist destination.

Get your heart racing with Mossel Bay’s extreme experiences. Zoom across the bay on the world’s longest ‘over-ocean’ zipline, skydive out a plane at a few thousand feet, go shark cage diving or carve up dunes on a sandboard. There are plenty of options to choose from.

Take guided walking tours along the beaches, dunes, cliffs and fynbos. Hike along the rugged coastline while venturing into numerous caves. Or hop on a quad bike, horse or safari vehicle and roam around the Mossel Bay area.

Boat trips are a hit, with visitors capturing sightings of whales, sharks, seals and dolphins swimming through the surf. The daring can enjoy scuba dives along Mossel Bay’s magical reefs and wrecks.

With more than 60km of pristine beaches, visitors can surf, kiteboard or canoe in the warm Indian Ocean. Explore rock and tidal pools or spend the day at the water parks for hours of entertainment and fun.

For those who want to play golf with a view, Pinnacle Point Golf Course, famed for being one of the most scenic golf courses in the world, overlooks the ocean and nearby town.

Mossel Bay has an array of world-class eating establishments, ranging from fish and chips take-out spots, exclusive dining experiences and traditional game lodge feasts.

If keen, also discover the Maritime Museum, one of the oldest places in the country.
Or head to a nearby private game reserve, home to rhinos, zebras and antelopes.

The greater Mossel Bay area is home to authentic crafters, artists, and locally produced goods. Browse shops and studios for beautifully made Mossel Bay keepsakes.
