Camps Bay

Camps Bay- About the Neighbourhood

Camps Bay is the playground of the “it” crowd – whether you want to spend some time on the white sandy beach, take a dip in one of the tidal pools or sip on cocktails on the strip, during the summer season, particularly the festive season, Camps Bay is the place to see and be seen in Cape Town.

Five-star boutique hotels, upmarket restaurants and cocktail bars, rooftop bars, beach boutiques, a shopping mall as well as a theatre are just some of the attractions – all located within walking distance from the beach. Watch the sunset from the beach or on the terrace of one of the many restaurants. The area is vibey day and night with local traders and buskers showing off their wares and talent. Camps Bay is home to Camps Bay beach, Glen beach and Bakoven beach.

Key Attractions in Camps Bay

The main drag, Victoria Road, is jam-packed with funky restaurants, trendy pubs, and bucket-and-spade shops on one side, and a palm-fringed beach on the other.

Places to Eat & Drink in Camps Bay

Cape Town locals are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful locations, but if you’re looking for a spot that offers up magnificent views of the ocean and mountain as well as gorgeous people and top-notch cocktails, you can’t go wrong with Camps Bay.

ICYMI! @tablemountainca will temporarily close for annual maintenance from Monday, 28 July to Sunday, 3 August 2025.

During this time, all commercial activities at both the Upper and Lower Stations will be closed to the public.

Each year, the Cableway undergoes routine inspections and essential upgrades to ensure the system continues to operate to the highest international safety standards.

Hikers can still enjoy a trek up Table Mountain, with many routes and walkways accessible. However, all facilities at the summit and base stations will be closed during the shutdown.
