Jonkershoek Nature Reserve

Limietberg Nature Reserve
Limietberg is a pristine nature reserve tucked away in the Du Toitskloof Mountains, near Paarl. It’s a perfect spot for picnicking, but day visitors are limited to 120 people per day so it’s best to go early. Once your picnic area has been set up you can find one of the swimming holes tucked away in the mountains and enjoy a swim. Limietberg also offers fishing spots for freshwater angling to those with an appropriate permit.

Kogelberg Nature Reserve
Kogelberg Nature Reserve is considered by many to be the most beautiful of CapeNature’s protected areas. Escape here for a weekend away and stay in one of five Oudebosch eco-cabins. Activities include hiking, swimming, white water kayaking, whale watching, and more.

Helderberg Nature Reserve
Situated in Somerset West and on the foot of Helderberg Mountains, Helderberg Nature Reserve is home to a variety of plants and animals. There are eight walking trails in the reserve, a picnic area, and a restaurant.

Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve
The Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve, located within walking distance of Steenberg and Lakeside Stations, functions as a fish hatchery, nursery and habitat for many animals. Zandvlei is popular with fishermen but there regulations in place so be sure you have a permit with you.
