Here’s what you can look forward to:
Sundial Garden
One of the most exciting additions this summer is the newly upgraded tasting area in the Sundial Garden. Here, under the shade of ancient trees, guests can connect with nature while sampling the estate’s finest offerings. Whether for a leisurely afternoon or a special celebration, the Sundial Garden is the perfect setting for a summer tasting.
Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, the last ticket for tasting is available until 4 pm. The last ticket for the Visitor’s Route Experience can be purchased by 3 pm to join the 3:30 pm tour.
Shopping
The estate’s Wine & Gift Shop and newly renovated production cellar feature a curated selection of lifestyle products crafted by Southern African artists and designers.
Here, you’ll find everything from bespoke jewellery and home décor to wine-themed gifts—perfect for treating others or indulging yourself. The final cellar tour begins at 3:30 pm, with hourly start times from 11 am.
Indulge in Top-Class Cuisine
Groot Constantia has two restaurants: Jonkershuis and Simon’s. Both serve fresh, seasonal dishes that reflect the estate’s Cape heritage, in picturesque settings. Whether dining al fresco at Simon’s or enjoying a family meal at Jonkershuis, these restaurants provide the perfect complement to your day of wine and exploration. During the warmer months, we recommend booking a table outdoors.

Tour The Historic Cloete Cellar
The Cloete Cellar, the original wine production cellar from 1791, offers an unparalleled experience to capture the essence of summer.
Famous for Groot Constantia’s Grand Constance, a sweet wine savoured by historical figures such as Napoleon and Jane Austen, you can enjoy Groot Constantia’s winemaking legacy in an intimate setting while sampling some of its finest vintages. The final cellar tour begins at 3:30 pm, with hourly start times from 11 am.
Award-Winning Sauvignon Blanc
No visit is complete without tasting Groot Constantia’s Sauvignon Blanc- a perfect summer drink. Recognised globally as one of the best, the 2019 vintage won the International Sauvignon Blanc Trophy at the 2020 International Wine Challenge (IWC), surpassing the Loire Valley and New Zealand after a decade-long reign.
