Here are some of our popular markets:

The Oranjezicht City (OZCF) Farm Market

Located in Granger Bay within the V&A Waterfront precinct, this farmers market has become the largest of its kind in the city. The market, which attracts thousands of visitors each weekend, supports over 40 local farmers and 80 artisanal food traders.

At OZCF, you will find fresh, local and seasonal healthy produce, delicious, made to order, food and drinks and even a selection of plants, fresh cut flowers, and gardening-related items too. Best of all, all dietary requirements are catered to, including vegan, vegetarian-friendly and even gluten-, dairy- and sugar-free-options. The market is dog friendly

Where: Haul Road, Granger Bay Blvd, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
When: Wednesday Night Market: 5pm-9pm, and Saturday and Sunday: 9am-4pm
Parking: Ample parking is available adjacent to the market. Parking is charged by the V&A Waterfront according to their tariffs.

Greenmarket Square

If you’re looking to shop for unique trinkets, clothing and art, a visit to Greenmarket Square comes highly recommended. As one of Cape Town’s oldest public spaces, Greenmarket Square entices curious travellers with affordable finds, including hand-crafted jewellery, ornaments, and other Cape Town-inspired treasures.

Where: Burg St and Longmarket St, Cape Town City Centre
When: Monday-Sunday from 9am-6pm
Parking: On-street parking is available, however taking an Uber is recommended as spaces are limited.

Greenmarket Square in Central City Cape Town

 

Milnerton Flea Market

Situated against the backdrop of Table Mountain, this diverse outdoor market is open every weekend. Here, you will find everything from antiques and collectibles to secondhand electronics and household items. Don’t be surprised if you come across some quirky finds, Milnerton Flea Market stall owners sell literally everything. There are food stalls scattered throughout the market for visitors who work up an appetite from shopping. We recommend setting aside a few hours, as you might find yourself getting carried away with all the retail therapy.

The Bay Harbour Market

Celebrate the vibrant South African spirit at this Hout Bay weekend market. The Bay Harbour Market is where foodies, music lovers and shoppers unite to enjoy a lively mix of “eats, beats, and arts and crafts” in a rustic setting. Stroll through the array of stalls offering everything from handmade jewellery and stylish fashion to unique art pieces and fresh produce. You can also indulge in freshly baked bread, spicy seafood and fresh produce while enjoying the local musicians on stage. No pets are allowed into the market, except for certified guide or support dogs.

When: Friday: 5pm-9pm, and Saturday and Sunday: 9.30am – 4pm
Parking: Ample parking is available, which is monitored by security guards.

MOJO Market

This vibrant and trendy market in Sea Point has been a sensation since it first opened its doors a few years ago. Known for its eclectic mix of food and lifestyle offerings, it’s the ultimate spot for live music, mouth-watering food, and other retail finds. With over 25 food stalls and 5 bars, there’s something to tempt every type of foodie. From free Sunday Salsa classes to major sports match screenings, there’s always something exciting happening here!

The Neighbourgoods Market, Old Biscuit Mill

Held every Saturday and Sunday at the historic Old Biscuit Mill, this is one market everyone visiting Cape Town should experience at least once. Enjoy designer street food (catering to all dietary needs and preferences) to baked treats, speciality products, and live DJ sets.

The pet-friendly market—provided dogs are kept on a leash and owners clean up after their pets—is open come rain or shine.

When: Every Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
Parking: Limited street parking is available. Do not leave your valuables in your vehicle.

Time Out Market Cape Town

The Cape Town installment of Time Out Market, the first to open in Africa, has been a hit since it launched in 2023. This food and cultural market bring the best of the city together under one roof, with a curated mix of the best chefs, drinks and cultural experiences.

Set like a communal food hall, you can sample some of the best food from the city’s finest chefs while dining at communal tables set with fine china and flatware.

The market is interactive, with regular wine events, quiz nights, and cocktail masterclasses.

Where: The Old Power Station, Dock Rd, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront,
When: Open daily: Monday to Thursday and Sunday from 11am to 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11am to 11pm.
Parking: The closest parking area is Portswood at the V&A Waterfront, which is just across Dock Road from the market. Parking is billed at an hourly rate.

Seasonal Markets

Edgemead Christmas Market

If you’re in the festive spirit, this Christmas market is not to be missed! Featuring over 200 of the Cape’s finest crafters, it’s the perfect place to find everything you need to make your holiday season sparkle. Held at the Edgemead Community Centre, you’ll discover an array of Christmas lights, decorations, and unique gifts, ensuring you can tick off your festive shopping list in style.

Cape Point Vineyards Community Market

This vibrant weekly market at Cape Point Vineyards is the perfect summer outing. After you shop for some treasures, grab a spot on the lawn, unwind with a delicious picnic or one of the mouthwatering meal options on offer as you watch the sun go down. And, of course, no visit is complete without indulging in a glass of their award-winning wines.

Where: Silvermine Rd, Noordhoek
When: Every Thursday from 4:30 pm – 8:30pm (weather permitting)
Parking: Ample parking available at the wine farm.

Rondebosch Potters Market

This bi-annual event takes place in March and November in Rondebosch Park.Organised by Ceramics SA Western Cape, it’s a haven for ceramic enthusiasts, showcasing an incredible variety of handcrafted pieces. While you browse, you can savour delicious treats from the vibrant food stalls.

Where:  Campground Rd & Sandown Road, Rondebosch
When:  The market is held twice a year-in March and November. Please check out their website for upcoming dates.
