Speed Classic Cape Town roars into the Mother City on 25 and 26 October 2025. The highly anticipated event will take over Philip Kgosana Drive this weekend, promising an unmissable weekend of motorsport.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Road Closures
Philip Kgosana Drive will be closed to outbound traffic from Sunday,19 October to Wednesday, 22 October from 7pm to 5am. Inbound lanes will remain open throughout, and outbound traffic will continue as normal outside these hours.
From 5am on Thursday, 23 October, until 5am on Monday,27 October, Philip Kgosana Drive, Christiaan Street, and Service Road will be closed to both inbound and outbound traffic.
Philip Kgosana Drive inbound will reopen to traffic from 5am on 27 October to minimise the impact on the public needing to travel to town. Philip Kgosana Drive outbound will be closed on Monday, 27 October, and between 7pm and 5am from Tuesday, 28 October, until Thursday, 30 October.
Motorists are urged to avoid Philip Kgosana Drive and use the following alternative routes:
- N1 incoming and outgoing
- N2 outgoing, via the City Centre and Nelson Mandela Blvd (incl. Strand Street & Hertzog Boulevard connections)
- N2 incoming, diverting onto Nelson Mandela Blvd and taking the Strand Street and Hertzog Boulevard exits.
Vehicle Access Permits will also be issued to affected residents who need to make use of the roads around Philip Kgosana Drive.

Parking and E-Hailing
All spectators attending Speed Classic Cape Town can enjoy free parking at the following locations:
General Access Ticket Holders: Parking is available at the Civic Centre and Good Hope Seminary Junior School.
Grandstand and Hospitality Ticket Holders: Parking is available at the Good Hope Seminary Junior School.
Guests with Disabilities and Special Needs: On-site parking for attendees with special needs is available at the CPUT Lecturers’ Parking area off Constitution Street.
Shuttles will be provided from these designated parking areas to the venue.
Spectators making use of e-hailing services should set the following locations for their arrival:
General Access and Grandstand Ticket Holders: Gardens Centre, from where you may take a short walk to the event’s pedestrian entrance at Jutland Avenue.
Hospitality Guests: 25 Jutland Avenue, Devils Peak Estate, Cape Town.
Gates open at 7am on 25 October and 8am on 26 October. Saturday’s programme concludes at 5pm (hospitality closes at 6pm), while Sunday’s activities, including hospitality, run until 7pm.
