What’s on in Cape Town in March 2024

It’s March and that means Easter is fast approaching and with that comes some awesome public holidays and long weekends. Not sure what to do? We have you covered! This month the city hosts events for everyone – from Africa’s biggest electronic music festival to a range of Pride events and of course the much-anticipated Cape Town Carnival and the 46th Cape Town Cycle Tour – we’re ready for a huge, bustling month.

Ultra Music Festival 

1 March

Ultra South Africa is Africa’s largest electronic music festival and is part of Ultra Music Festival’s worldwide expansion which has now spread to twenty countries. Cape Town Pride Parade

2 March

The procession will be led by Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride, followed by the ever-popular bikers from Ride with Pride and an assortment of skateboarders and roller-skaters.

Cape Town Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBTQI+ issues and campaigns for freedoms that enable individuals to live genuinely equal lives. It celebrates people of every race, faith, ability, and sexuality, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans, genderqueer, gender variant, non-binary individuals, as well as straight and cis allies.

Cape Town Ramadan and Lifestyle Expo

Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo and Cape Town Cycle Tour

In the run up to the Cape Town Cycle Tour the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo (South Africa’s largest cycling, fitness & healthy lifestyle expo) will take place where participants in the Cape Town Cycle Tour can collect their race packs. The CTCT Expo has grown to be the largest show of its kind in the country, housing over hundreds of exhibitors from around the world, and receiving approximately 45 000 visitors. The 46th Cape Town Cycle Tour, the biggest timed bike race in the world, will take place on Sunday, 10 March 2024.

The Galileo: Peter Rabbit Special Easter Show

For the first time the Castle is opening its gates for a mass picnic concert!
Come for a picnic and listen to Spoegwolf in the middle of the Castle of Good Hope, one of South Africa’s oldest existing historical buildings! This concert is a picnic style concert, so bring a blanket and a picnic basket. BYO is allowed. All ages welcome!

The concert will take place irrespective of rain. Regret no refunds are issued.
The concert is a completely non-smoking event, given the heritage at the Castle. There are no designated smoking areas.
