Chommies, meet Caitlin Hood 👋✨
This Durban girlie is all about chasing thrills and saying “yes” to new adventures. And where better to do that than Cape Town? 🌊⛰️
Armed with running shoes and a sense of adventure, the content creator and runner is on a mission to uncover Mother City gems.
This week, Caitlin is learning how to make koesisters from Bo-Kaap Cooking Tour’s Zainie Misbach.
Caitlin joined Cape Town runner Liam Lategan to discover the story behind one of the Mother City’s most iconic sweet treats. A Sunday staple in many Cape Town homes, koesisters are a Cape Malay favourite, known for their warm spices, hints of naartjie peel and soft, doughnut-like texture.
She grew up eating koesisters in Durban, but had never made them herself… until now.
Caitlin’s Cape Town story continues. Follow Love Cape Town to see what she gets up to next. 👀
