Two Oceans Aquarium
The Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet with great triumph at the southern tip of Africa, and where better place to celebrate the diverse marine life in these two vast habitats than where it all comes together in Cape Town - at the V&A Waterfront.
Here, the Two Oceans Aquarium showcases the different oceans’ wildlife through interactive displays and more than 8 000 marine animals from 200-plus marine species.
There are a number of display galleries, all of which are enthralling to all ages. These rich aquatic displays include the Diversity Gallery, Predator Exhibit (with the majestic ragged-tooth sharks), the Penguin Exhibit, the I&J Ocean Exhibit (with turtles and rays) and the Kelp Forest Exhibit. As you walk between galleries, you’ll be delighted to see sharks, penguins, seahorses, jellyfish, and too many fish species to count.
The Two Oceans Aquarium and its Foundation play a critical role in South Africa’s oceanic sustainability. Two Oceans is proudly a certified platinum member of the Heritage Environmental Rating Programme, which is the highest level of achievement in this internationally recognized eco-labeling programme. They also actively work towards turtle conservation, scientific research and country-wide environmental education.
