Airlink was established in 1992 and is Southern Africa’s premier, privately-owned regional airline.  With its fleet of over 65 modern jetliners, Airlink serves these cities and other destinations throughout Southern Africa as well as Madagascar and St Helena Island.  It offers worldwide connections through its partners, which include many trusted and well-known inter-continental brands, 10 of which are codeshare partners, and its FlyNamibia franchise.

Airlink’s innovative Skybucks frequent flyer programme rewards its loyal customers and has almost 200,000 members. Skybucks is also partnered with the Qatar Airways Privilege Club programme.

Airlink is an International Air Transport Association (IATA) member and accredited under its IOSA safety audit programme.

New Cape Town – Gaborone Route

Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, is expanding its network to include direct Cape Town-Gaborone flights from 1 April 2025.

Flights on the route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Cape Town International Airport at 10h50, arriving at Gaborone’s Sir Seretse Khama International Airport at 13h00. The return service leaves Gaborone at 13h45 and lands in Cape Town at 16h00.

As Botswana’s capital, Gaborone is an important regional destination for business. The city is home to thriving minerals, resources, automotive, and tech-sector companies and hosts the Southern African Development Community (SADC) headquarters. It is also an important leisure tourism gateway to many game lodges, including the Gaborone Game Reserve.

Alongside Cape Town’s economic expansion, there is rising demand for travel between the two cities and Airlink is ideally placed to connect these cities with a convenient direct service.

This new service enables customers travelling via Cape Town on our various international partner airlines to seamlessly connect onward to Gaborone on a single ticket and vice versa for customers travelling from Gaborone.
