FOURTEEN

FOURTEEN is a storytelling-led heritage experience set on the La Paris estate in Paarl — directly across the road from the gate where Nelson Mandela walked free on 11 February 1990, after spending fourteen in a cottage at Victor Verster Prison.

It is not a museum. It is not a monument. FOURTEEN is a living, human encounter — with four first-hand witnesses to one of the most consequential moments in modern history.

WHAT VISITORS CAN EXPECT:
o A 45-minute talk titled The Last Fourteen Months narrated by Andrew Russell or another local storyteller, accompanied, if possible, by either Jack Swart or Mark Peters, subject to their availability.
o A Mandela inspired meal based on the food Jack used to prepare for Mandela.
o Bespoke merchandise and books.
o A visit to the Nelson Mandela statue outside the gates of Drakenstein Correctional Centre.
