Yoga studios in Cape Town

Cape Town is known to enjoy slowing things down a little and nothing illustrates this more than the vast array of yoga studios dotted in and around the city. On any given day you’ll see people walking through the bustling city streets, a yoga mat tucked under one arm, a water bottle clutched in hand as they make their way to or from their yoga session of choice.

Love your sun salutations as much as we do? Here are a few yoga studios you should get to know:

YogaLife – De Waterkant

Set on a picturesque road just behind Cape Quarter, YogaLife offers a range of great classes every day of the week. Drop in and enjoy a challenging power yoga session, or find zen again in a slower, choreographed Vinyasa class. This De Waterkant studio is also beginner friendly, offering yoga 101 classes on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Yoga Zone – City Bowl

For the busy professional, this is a studio from heaven. Found on the 10th floor of the Picbel Arcade on Strand Street, YogaZone offers convenience and great classes all in one. Better still, there is plenty of parking, so there’s no risk of road rage right before or after that yoga class. It is also Cape Town’s first hot yoga studio and boasts great teachers and facilities.

Hot Dog Yoga – Sea Point

Conveniently located on Sea Point, Main Road, this gorgeous studio space offers up views of the bustling street and tranquil mountain beyond. Hot Dog Yoga has a good variety of classes too, from Ashtanga, to hot Vinyasa, as well as restorative and Hatha yoga.

Situated in Woodstock, this studio is a must-visit for Capetonians and visitors to the city alike.

It’s not every day that you’ll find a men’s yoga class, but that’s exactly what’s on offer at Newlands-based Yogaway every Wednesday morning, providing men an opportunity to practice sequences specifically designed for them. Yogaway also offers a range of other classes for all levels of yoga students, including Vinyasa and even has a hybrid class called Barre which is informed from Ballet, Pilates and Yoga.
