Constantia Wine Walk

The Constantia Wine Walk is a unique walking tour on private trails between three iconic farms in Constantia. We pop bubbly in the vineyards, taste 10 wines, enjoy a harvest platter lunch to end with and I share the untold stories of Constantia’s past.

The stories are what make this a remarkable and one-of-a-kind walking tour. In the late 1700s, Constantia was the most sought-after wine in the world - it cannot be overstated what it meant to the world of fine wine and its trajectory.

Thomas Jefferson, Napoleon, Queen Victoria, Marie Antoinette - they all drank it and loved it. The modern equivalent is Vin de Constance, which is one of the top-rated wines in the country and which we drink on the tour.

The tour follows private trails through the vineyards connecting the different farms, an exclusive experience that is only offered on the Constantia Wine Walk. The food is another big feature of the tour, with their being paired tastings and a snack bag along the way, before ending on the lawns of Buitenverwachting for a delicious harvest platter picnic. The other two farms we visit are the historic Groot Constantia and sophisticated Klein Constantia.
