Where to Find Your Zen in Cape Town

Cape Town is the kind of place where you can find yourself and inner peace. With meditation being praised as a combatant against anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness and pain, there’s no time like the present to find your zen in the Mother City.

We take a look at meditation and yoga centres where you can find peace, calm and enlightenment at the southern tip of Africa.

Shambhala South Africa

A registered non-profit organisation, Shambhala South Africa believes in a basic, universal human wisdom not belonging to any particular religious tradition. The practical spirituality nevertheless retains a strong Tibetan influence and many of Mahayana Buddhism’s methodologies are used in the pursuit of an authentic and joyful life. Free meditation classes are offered every Thursday at Erin Hall. There is also a secular meditation training program that takes place over five-weekend workshops.
