Cape Town Accommodation
Cape Town has a wide range of accommodation – from backpackers’ hostels to five-star hotels – to suit every budget.
Cape Town City Centre offers vibrant day and night life, and there’s always something on.
If you’d prefer somewhere quieter, but still close to the main attractions, the leafy Southern Suburbs (including areas such as Newlands, Claremont and Rondebosch) are a good bet.
Further south along the peninsula, Muizenberg, Simon’s Town, Kommetjie, Noordhoek, Fish Hoek and other suburbs offer a laid-back atmosphere.
The Northern Suburbs (including areas such as Goodwood, Tygervalley and Century City) offer easy access to attractions such as the Durbanville Wine Valley, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World and Canal Walk Shopping Centre.
The Blaauwberg coast is best known for its spectacular views of Table Mountain across Table Bay. It stretches from Milnerton in the south to Mamre in the north.
The birthplace of Cape Town’s soul and art, its spirit of entrepreneurship and resilience, can be found in the Cape Flats. A tour through areas like Langa, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha, Mitchell’s Plain and Manenberg offers a unique opportunity to mingle with residents, learn more about the vibrant local culture and support enterprising business ventures.
The Helderberg region is one of the most visually dramatic areas in Cape Town, with the Hottentots Holland and Helderberg Mountain ranges creating a powerful backdrop against which the valley descends into vineyards and onto a coastline swept with white, sandy beaches. Suburbs include Gordon’s Bay, Somerset West and Strand.
The Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town’s “Riviera”, stretches from the V&A Waterfront on the northern shore of Table Mountain all the way down the west side of the Cape Peninsula. It includes suburbs such as Green Point, Clifton and Camps Bay.
