The prestigious Cape Town Whisky Live Celebration takes place from 12 – 14 April 2018. It promises to be another grand affair, showcasing a wide range of luxury whiskies, both local and international. You’ll find everything from the popular classics to unique and rare whiskies. There’s something for everyone.
The event takes place at The Lookout, at the V&A Waterfront. It’s a large indoor venue where the whisky brands will be setting up tasting booths, and you’ll be able to mingle, chat, taste fine whisky, and learn from the experts at the stalls. There’s also a spectacular deck where you can take a seat and watch the sun go down over the Atlantic.
The star of this show is definitely the whisky. There will be over 30 brands at the celebration, and you can sample of many of them as you like. Tickets include 16 tasting coupons, but you can top up if need be. It’s a great idea to download the app Whizzky, which allows you to get information on whiskies, save your favourite ones in a collection, rate whiskies and see others’ tasting notes.
Some of the participating brands at the 2018 Cape Town Whisky Live Celebration include Kavalan, The Macallan, Scottish Leader, The Pogues, The Quiet Man, The Glenlivet, Black Bottle, Irish Pot Stills of Midleton, Blanton’s, Aultmore, Dewars, Powers John’s Lane, Buffalo Trace, Aberlour, Redbreast, Paul John, Glen Grant, Jameson Caskmates, Douglas Laing, Highland Park, Wolfburn, Bunnahabhain, Kilchoman, Bain’s, Jack Daniel’s, Glendalough, Three Ships, Buffalo Trace and Glenfarclas.
Whisky Live is a classy affair, so make sure you look the part!
