What’s happening in July in Cape Town

For an up-to-date list of  events, check out our Cape Town Events’ Calendar

Capetonians are known to go into a bit of a hibernation during winter, but that doesn’t mean the city goes to sleep when the cold and the rain hits. From food to funny, music to magic, there’s a ton of activities to keep everyone entertained. July is also time for the winter school holidays, and there are lots of activities during aimed at children during the chilly days.

Here are a couple of events happening in the Mother City in July:

Woodstock Winter Beer Festival

Cape Town isn’t only known for its excellent wine, it’s also home to some of the country’s best craft beer. The Woodstock Winter Beer Festival at The Palms celebrates all things beer, and of course, the delicious food that goes with it, with live music to jazz up the atmosphere. It’s a day not to be missed for beer aficionados or for those who fancy good food and a fun time.

In addition, the Carnival Weekend (or weekends) sees the town abuzz with activities — from food and craft markets, live music, parades, pop-up restaurants, and kids’ favourite, a great big amusement park.

From Wednesday to Saturday, kids can marvel at all kinds of magic, and learn the, uhm, tricks of the trade from current and former students. Jugglers, clowns and mimes will add to the magical atmosphere.
