This is Yaaseen Barnes’ tips on how to enjoy the Mother City without breaking the bank:

“There’s so much to do in Cape Town for under R150. Every corner has an activity and every step is instagrammable (yes, that is a word and yes, I made it up).”

  1. Explore Hout Bay Harbour: “Hit a lekker lunch at Snoekies in Hout Bay (great food and great prices) while you’re there, go for a walk in the harbour and on the beach.”
  2. Get artsy: “Clay Cafe is great day out that gets you to brag with your art skills that you get to take home too.”
  3. Cycling on Sea Point Promenade: “There’s many cycling options on the Sea Point Promenade, rent a bike; feel the breeze and you’ll still have change for an ice cream after.”
  4. Enjoy local delicacies: “Ottery Road in Wynberg has a great selection of local food restaurants (Aneesa’s, Hook Up Lounge, Izzy Burger, Cosy Corner to name a few) all really amazing food for little monies.”
