Whether you’re looking for sundowners, entertainment or just a great atmosphere, Alexander Bar in town is always a great idea. On Wednesdays, you’ll be treated to OMG Quiz Nights starting at 7:30 pm. Expect quirky and interactive quizzes and be on the lookout for their niched theme quizzes every now and again, they are great fun!



Stretch your brain every second Thursday of the month with Quiz Night at the beloved Beerhouse on Long Street. With 25 taps in their beerhall and tasty food on their menu, you’re destined to have a good time with your best mates. They also have seriously popular themed quizzes, so if you feel like you are the biggest Harry Potter or Game of Thrones fan in Cape Town keep an eye on their Facebook page for these annual fan funfests. It’s R50 per person and booking is essential.



For more than ten years the classic pub quiz at Oblivion has been entertaining people and making them scratch their heads to recall interesting facts about the world. Wine and food will fuel your mind and remember teamwork makes the dream work, so pick your squad well.

Your nerdiness will be rewarded with cold beers at this brewer’s collective in Woodstock that will be hosting quiz nights every second Wednesday. They promise to quiz you on a variety of topics so bring your five smartest friends and be sure to book ahead of time.


Firemans Arms

This pub on Buitengracht is one of the oldest in town and they obviously know their stuff. Join them every thirsty Thursday for a quiz and some pizza and/or pub food and guaranteed good times. Be there early to secure a spot and bring along R20 per person.


Crazy Horse

Cape Town’s proper English pub Crazy Horse on Bree Street hosts a popular monthly quiz. Expect superb pub food and a jovial atmosphere as you answer trivia questions with one to five of your knowledgeable friends.
