Table Mountain’s distinctive flat top is one of the first and last things you see when visiting the city. It towers over the city like a watchful, gentle giant. The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is the best way to get to the top (or back down after a hike). Watch the video below to find out why it should be at the top of your bucket list, and read on to find out our top reasons to visit this iconic Cape Town attraction.
The Cableway journey
The cable cars are the only ones of their kind in Africa. Thy run along cables from the Lower Cableway Station to the summit of Table Mountain, rotating as they climb. From the cars, you’ll get panoramic views of the mountain, harbour, and Robben Island. It’s a one of a kind experience that’s not to be missed. Return tickets are available, as well as one way tickets for those who plan to hike one direction and ride the other. Get tickets online to make sure you skip the queues at the ticket office!
The views from the top of Table Mountain
The views are one of the things that make Table Mountain so special. There are 360-degree views of the entire Cape Peninsula. You can see the stunning beaches around Clifton and Camps Bay, the Table Mountain range, the City Bowl, the harbour and Waterfront, and the unspolit wilderness of the Table Mountain National Park—all just by turning your head.

They also do great breakfasts! Another option is the Wifi Lounge, where you can catch up on emails and social media over a coffee and snack.

They are short, fun, family-friendly walks. For those who want more, you can discover the stories and legends of Table Mountain or experience the top of Table Mountain like never before with two free audio tours.
