This November, the Mitchells Plain Festival returns to Cape Town. The safe, alcohol-free event promises live music, DJs, and a whole lot of fun for the whole family. Here’s everything you need to know.

The 2019 DSTV Mitchells Plain Festival takes place from Friday 29 November at 16:00 until Sunday 1 December at 18:00.

What to expect

The three day event features more than sixty local artists, entertainers and dj’s, spread across two stages. A crowd of over 40,000 people expected, and festival-goers can enjoy more than 160 food, fashion, electronics, and gadget stands. There will also be a massive military display featuring the SA Army, SA Navy, SA Air Force, and SA Signal Service. Don’t forget to check out the competitions, with prizes including complimentary meal vouchers, hotel accommodation, free flights, shopping vouchers, motor bikes, and cash!
This community-focused festival aims to create more than one thousand job opportunities for locals, and is a safe and alcohol-free event.

Tickets are available via Computicket. They are free for pensioners, children, and those with physical disabilities. Children aged 6 to 12 pay R30, and persons aged 13 and over will pay R50.
