SANParks – Table Mountain National Park (Tokai Forest and Arboretum)

At the base of Tokai Forest, you’ll find the Tokai Arboretum, with a relaxing tea garden and self-catering accommodation options. The Arboretum holds an impressive 274 species of trees for you to marvel at. The planting of 1555 individual trees started way back in 1885 by Joseph Storr Lister, the conservator of forests for the Cape Colony, and as a result, the trees are now well established and often gigantic.

Highlights:

Find picnic spots, mountain bike trails and hiking trails in Tokai Forest
Hike to Elephants Eye Cave in the Constantiaberg mountains, as well as a number of easier routes
Tea garden and self-catering accommodation can be found at the Tokai Arboretum
