Step off the busy pavement of Main Road, Claremont on a Friday night and you’ll find the space warm and welcoming.
Shakespeare said If music be the food of love, play on! So if conversation is not your forte, but music is, then make your way to Kaleidoscope for some soul food. The ambience is relaxed, colourful and warm. You will receive a warm, delicious home-cooked meal to enjoy with the jazz.
Guests can look forward to some great renditions of jazz standards by musicians from around the city, with the Glenn Robertson Jazz Band often hosting the evening.
The band has performed extensively in Cape Town, including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival in 2010. The musical style of the band is rooted in Jazz, but they are versatile and easily move from Blues to Swing and from Bebop to modern Jazz. You might even hear some latin flavours from time to time.
There is a soft-drinks bar but the venue is unlicensed, so you are more than welcome to bring your own malt and wine.
Most Capetonians love jazz as much as wine, rugby and the beach and as a visitor to the Mother City, you can enjoy the company of locals at Kaleidoscope Cafe -the Venue in the Community for the Community. It will be a wholesome evening of good food, good fellowship and good vibes!
The venue is fully equipped and can accommodate, weddings, training, concerts, business breakfast meetings, cd launches, anniversaries, birthdays, to name a few.
They are able to provide a tailored package to suit your needs and to guarantee that your special occasion runs smoothly and successfully.
