District Six Museum
Though the buildings were destroyed, the community has remained strong and many of he former residents and their descendents are rebuilding the area from their memories in an attempt to restore what once was.
The museum itself is housed in a historic building that was formerly a church, inside of which the permanent multimedia exhibition, ‘Digging Deeper’, tells the life stories and history of District Six’s residents. The museum also happens to be one of the stops on the City Sightseeing Bus’ red route.
