Join us for an interactive, educational, family friendly tour. Learn about our farming practices, bake a rye bread and make a lip balm to take home with you.
Camphill Village West Coast is a dynamic community working with intellectually challenged adults, where we care about the environment and produce quality products in a natural farm setting.
The day will start with a guided tractor ride around the farm to show you our abundant organic vegetable and herb gardens. The first activity will take place at the bakery. Max our Chef will teach you about the difference between shop bought bread and sourdough bread and step you through the process to make your own loaf to take home with you. Whilst your bread is baking you will visit the Dairy to meet and learn about Camphill’s herd of Jersey cows. Our warm-hearted and friendly residents will show you how the cows are milked and explain the process to make cheese, butter and cream. Your next activity will be at the Cosmetics Enterprise to make a lip balm and learn about our chemical and environment friendly products. A traditional South African lunch is included hosted at one of the homes on the farm. The tour will take approximately 4 hours and the cost is R250 per person.
