Signal Gun

The on-site restaurant is named Ke-Monate, a Swahili word meaning "that’s nice". Pizza and wine pairing is a favourite while there are many themed evenings such as Indian and Mexican. Picnic baskets are available to savour on the lawns as are exhilarating game drives on Hoogeberg Hill. Fauna in the area include eland, wildebeest, springbok, zebra, bontebok, dassies and a large array of birdlife. From the summit, you’ll be able to make out the harbour, Robben Island, Table Mountain and Simon’s town.

If you’re wondering about the name, that’s because one of the VOC signal cannons installed centuries ago still remains on the farm. You may even get a chance to fire the gun, letting it boom across the grounds and saluting the memories and legacy of this old family-owned winery.

Highlights:

Interesting pairings like wine and turkish delight and biltong and beer pairing
Themed wine and food evenings at Ke-Monate restaurant
Slow brewed Craft Beer for tasting or to take home
Function and conference venues
