Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa

Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa, or FTTSA, is a non-profit organisation that aims to recognise and certify tour and hospitality businesses for their fair-trade policies, as well as inspire other businesses to commit to these practices. Each company’s fair-trade rating is judged by a range of criteria, including fair wages and working conditions, fair purchasing, distribution of benefits, ethical business practice and respect for human rights, culture and the environment.

When you visit an FTTSA certified establishment, you can be assured that your experience is an ethical one that will benefit the local community and economy and ensure the protection of the environment. FTTSA also offer two training courses, one for general level employees, and the other for managerial level, both of which assist with the implementation of sustainable business practices.

Highlights

- Get your tourism or hospitality business certified for fair trade policies
- Visit only fair-trade certified establishments to benefit the local community, economy and environment
- Take one of two training courses to learn how to implement sustainable practices
