Butterfly World

Butterfly World Tropical Garden is home to exotic, colourful, free flying butterflies.  Here our visitors can watch them fly feed, lay eggs and emerge from their pupas. But we are more than just butterflies.

When exotic pets have to leave their owners, their chances of survival become limited.  Butterfly World has become a sanctuary for these animals.  Currently we are hosting dozens of animals - from spiders, to lizards and snakes, monkeys and bats, small antelope and many species of birds. Not being able to return to their natural habitat where they belong, they will live out their days here in a tropical garden providing the best possible environment for them.

It's not the ideal but it is their reality.  Our message is simple:  Appreciate, Don't keep.  We are open 9am - 5pm, 7 days a week.  Directions:  Take the N1 out of Cape Town.  Take exit 47 and turn right onto the R44.  Butterfly World is on the Left.
