BOMA is a lively desert style restaurant & cocktail bar located on the iconic restaurant strip of Bree Street. Come warm you hart, face and vibe by the sounds and smells of Boma’s open flames. Our indoor booths and large bar offer comfortable seating for all types of dining parties and our shady outside seating offer our more adventurous diners a view of what is shaking outside.

Get all the feels of desert deluxe with our custom wood panelling, mid-century furniture and hand selected artworks. All nestled between the live cactus installations that flank over our dining room. Boma offers you an escape to a retro desert oasis where you will be treated to an atmosphere that channels Karoo, Kalahari, Patagonia and Mojave…from our Boma to the stars!

The magic of the Boma menu is that meals and stories are scorched together over heat and open flame. Discover globally influenced plates listed among classic dishes with innovative South African twists. All of our flavours and tastes are prepared over our wood burning open fire grill. Favourites include the famous braaibroodjie-jaffle, Oom Eddie’s grass fed Karoo Skaap Ribs and our curry kissed Cape Malay Lamb Sosatie.

Our Boma is an any-time-of-day kind of spot. From those strolling the inner city wanting a quick bite to the late afternoon cocktail crowd and even the dusk dwellers who come out to dine and dance. Our large bar is stocked with an extensive selection of tequila and whiskey, old favourites, new treats and the best frozen margaritas Cape Town has ever served.

Boma shares space with The Tiki Tomb, our bespoke hidden tropical basement bar. We recommend that guests adventure down the stairs for an afterdinner cocktail or night cap. See what treasures the Tiki trove serves up as a late night treat.
