The V&A Waterfront is pulling out all the stops to ensure local and international visitors enjoy a memorable festive season.
Here’s what to expect:
For the kids
The festive season kids programme inside Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre kicks off from 7-24 December 2022. Explore the Waterfront Wonderland themed around three 2-metre-tall books that children and adults can stroll through to discover a magical Waterfront story. Each book reflects the themes of heritage, hope and inspiration.
Santa will arrive on 15 December 2022.
The V&A Kids Market takes place on the following days: 17 December 2022, 28 January, 25 February, 25 March and 8-9 April 2023 from 10am to 3pm.
The College of Magic, South Africa’s only magical arts training organisation, presents Summer Magic, a show filled with comedy, juggling and jaw-dropping magic. The show takes place on 20 – 24 December and 2 – 6 January at 5.30pm.
Join Experi-Buddies and the V&A Waterfront for a workshop like no other. Experi-Buddies is an educational programme that features interactive projects, exciting demonstrations and basic experiments. Dates for the workshop include 8, 14, 21 and 29 January 2023 with 4x workshops per day. Booking is essential.
Music
Silo Concerts, set against the backdrop of Zeitz MOCAA, take place every first Friday of the month from 7-8pm. Upcoming acts include Mandisi Dyantyis (2 December) and This Thing Called Swing (6 January). Entry is free.

Cape Town Jazzathon, fondly known as the ‘People’s Festival,’ will run between 12-15 January 2023 at the V&A Amphitheatre.
V&A Waterfront Take the Stage series is a platform for emerging South African musicians and musical ensembles to showcase their talents at V&A Waterfront. Experience these emerging artists live at 6pm on the Amphitheatre on the below days:

Festive season shopping hours
Shopping hours will extend from Thursday, 15 December to Friday, 23 December 2022, from 9am to 10pm, and again from 26-30 December 2022, from 9am to 10pm.
Makers Landing
Pienaar & Son & Friends present Gin Day on 3 December at Makers Landing. The event promises a range of activities, from gin tastings and panel discussions to demo workshops and sample gin-inspired menus.
The festive edition of Makers Market at Makers Landing takes place every weekend from 26 November to 31 December 2022. It features the stellar artisanal work of our food entrepreneurs and incubator-programme businesses.
The Mini Makers Summer Holiday Programme at Makers Landing takes place from 15 December 2023 to 8 January 2023 to equip youngsters with fun kitchen basics while they participate in active food play.
