The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway offers free walking tours which depart every hour from the Twelve Apostles Terrace. The 30-minute family friendly tours are offered daily between 9am and 3pm. The expert guides will take you on a short walk around the Table top, colouring your experience with the fascinating history, geography, fauna, and flora that make this iconic attraction so special.

No need to book for this tour: just arrive at 11am or 4:20pm, 365 days a year, and look out for the green umbrellas.

Bo-Kaap Walking Tour

The Bo-Kaap Walking Tour by Cape Town Free Walking Tours departs twice daily from Motherland Coffee Company in Mandela Rhodes Place, at 2pm and 4:20pm. Explore the rich history and beautiful cuisine of this iconic neighbourhood, with its bright colourful houses and cobbled streets. Highlights include Cape Town’s oldest Mosque, Auwal Masjeed, the story of Tuan Guru, the old Tailor’s House, the story of the colourful houses, Biesmiellah Cape Malay Restaurant, the Atlas Spice Trading Centre, and the beautiful Chiappini Street. No bookings are required. Just look out for the green umbrellas and sign up.

The Bo-Kaap by Craig Howes

Apartheid to Freedom Tour

Learn all about apartheid and its legacy on this guided walk by Cape Town Free Walking Tours. The tour twice a day from Motherland Coffee Company in Mandela Rhodes Place, at 11am and 2pm. It takes in St George’s Cathedral, The Cape High Court, District Six, and the site of Mandela’s first speech as a free man. You’ll learn about the apartheid laws and how they affected those who called Cape Town home.
