On 28 and 29 October 2019 the Cape will play host to the 2019 IPASA (Independent Philanthropy Association South Africa) Philanthropy Symposium focusing on Social Cohesion and Philanthropy: Towards Building Trust and Hope. Taking place at The Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS), the symposium will look at how we can build social cohesion in our schools, universities, and communities, and how philanthropy could address the various fault lines in our society. The keynote opening speaker will be Professor Jonathan Jansen and the closing speaker will be Thuli Madonsela.
The event will bring together individual philanthropists, philanthropic foundations, donors, CSI managers, financial institutions and academics to consider the role philanthropy can play in building hope and uniting an increasingly divided society.
The two-day registration fee for IPASA members is R3300 and for non-members R5800.
