The Cape Town Marathon is a unique annual run that takes place in Spring yearly. Runners of all levels are welcome to participate in Africa’s only IAAF Gold Label status marathon.
The event caters to all types of runners. The spectacular route takes in the Mother City’s famous natural beauty, as well as some of the top attractions which Cape Town is known for, including Table Mountain, the South African Holocaust Museum, Rondebosch Common, and Cape Town Stadium.
The race starts at the V&A Waterfront, passing many well-known landmarks, such as Long Street, the Mount Nelson Hotel, the South African National Gallery, the Houses of Parliament, The Company’s Garden, and the Castle of Good Hope to mention a few. The route ends in the shadow of Signal Hill at Green Point A track where thousands of spectators wait to welcome the runners.
The best place to view and support the runners are at the Green Point A Track. It’s right near the Green Point Urban Park, which allows families to make this a festive all-day family outing.
