Virginia Oosthuizen is accomplished in the performing and visual arts.

Virginia was born in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch where she was privileged to study with professional artists such as Maurice van Essche, Elise Bodly, Alfred Krenz, and Con Purchase. She studied with Hans Tisdal at the Central School of Art, Holborn in London and later with Professor Dubrovsky at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna.

Virginia gained early experience in nature illustration working as an artist for Dr. Douglas Hey at the Department of Nature Conservation, Stellenbosch. Her love of nature is reflected in a wide range of chosen subjects. These include indigenous and garden flowers, still lives of seashells, bones, eggs, fruit, vegetables and mushrooms, among others.

Virginia has held ten solo exhibitions, including a solo exhibition at the Irma Stern Gallery in 2006. She has participated in five group exhibitions throughout her career as a visual artist.
