The Department of Health has the following guidelines for self-quarantine in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who should self-quarantine?

Self-quarantine for COVID-19 is recommended for those who have been directly exposed to the virus or who have travelled to places where there are lots of people infected. This is done to prevent further transmission.

Here are the 10 steps for self-quarantine

Step 1: Stay home

Don’t leave your house unless you have to seek medical help.

Step 2: Monitor your symptoms

Step 3: Get medical help as soon as you become ill

Call your doctor or the helpline for guidance.

Step 4: Know the steps for seeking medical care

Step 5: Do not go to work, school, or out in public.

Also avoid public transport and large gatherings.

Step 6: Separate yourself from others in your home.

If possible stay in a separate bedroom.

Step 7: Use facemasks to help prevent the spread of the disease.

Cough into your elbow, or use a tissue to cough or sneeze into.

Step 8: Wash your hands with soap or sanitiser

Step 9: Avoid touching your face

Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Step 10: Clean everything every day
