Best Buffet Restaurants in Cape Town

Last updated September 2023

Cape Town is the undisputed foodie capital of South Africa, but gourmet deliciousness shouldn’t end when the menu says it should. Here’s a look at all-you-can eat buffet restaurants in the Mother City.

Table Bay Hotel

Start the day the best possible way with a full plate of deliciousness (including sushi and oysters) at the Table Bay Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. The buffet is both Halal and vegetarian friendly.

Vista Bar & Lounge

If you have a sweet tooth and the idea of indulging in decadent caramel and gold leaf éclairs, cream-topped scones and macaroons gets you salivating, pop into the One&Only Cape Town’s Vista Bar & Lounge for afternoon tea. Expect a brilliant spread, a great view and to receive the celebrity treatment while you’re there.

Lady Bee

A firm family favourite, this is the lunch and dinner stop for flavoursome Eastern, Indian and Malay cuisine. Dish as much as you want of their divine curries, seafood, biryanis, roasts and pasta dishes at any of their six locations in Cape Town and pay for your food according to weight.

Active Sushi

Sushi-loving Capetonians have been flocking to Active Sushi in De Waterkant for years for their Monday to Wednesday all-you-can-eat sushi buffet special. The sushi is superb, and the price even better.

Harvey’s at Winchester Mansions

If you like your brunch with a side of jazz music, you simply cannot miss Harvey’s Jazz Brunch each Sunday at the Winchester Mansions Hotel in Sea Point.

Feast away on eggs cooked just the way you like it, fresh sushi, decadent desserts and a glass of complimentary bubbly.

Quarterdeck Restaurant

If you’re a keen buffet buff, then Quarterdeck at the Grand West casino will be heaven. They boast more than 100 dishes, including pizzas, pasta, seafood, meats, a create-your-own noodle bar, and of course, a mouthwatering desert section with delicious treats like a chocolate mousse, brownies, tarts and crème brûlée, and more!

La Cuccina

Hout Bay’s La Cuccina prides itself on preparing everything on their menu from scratch, using only the best, sustainable ingredients, and they serve a healthy buffet spread for breakfast and lunch every day, with ample vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The Durbanville Winelands are alive with the smell of great food as Bloemendal restaurants lay out their best gourmet food, featuring crowd pleasers like ostrich neck potjie, chicken pie, trifle and more.

A buffet with a view, the Twelve Apostles hotel’s popular upmarket restaurant, Azure, offers a number of buffets, from daily breakfast with campaign and oysters, to High Tea, to a delectable Sunday buffet.

Café Extrablatt

Right across the road from Cape Town Stadium in Green Point, Café Extrablatt serves up an amazing Saturday breakfast buffet with everything from freshly baked pastries, sausages and even a create-your-own omelette (prepared by a chef). They also serve a buffet lunch on Sundays and public holidays.
