AFRIKOA Chocolate: From bean to bar

AFRIKOA chocolate is a celebration of African excellence and making chocolate bars with ingredients sourced right here in Africa.

Their chocolate factory is situated in Century City in Cape Town, the cocoa beans come from Tanzania, the cane sugar from KwaZulu-Natal, the almonds from the little Karoo, and coffee beans from Rwanda!

AFRIKOA chocolate is crafted using the highest quality, natural ingredients sourced from across Africa. That means all the chocolate bars are free from all artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. They also don’t use soy in their products and their dark chocolates are dairy-free and gluten-free.

AFRIKOA is all about Direct Trade as it cuts out the middle men. Cocoa beans are bought directly from farmers. It translates to the farmers earning more, being rewarded for quality and a greater level of transparency. Read more here.
