Winter Photo Competition 2011

Congratulations to Christelle Erasmus who was voted the winning photographer, with her entry entitled: Feeding the Seagulls.  View the winning photo here. You can still check out the top 20 finalists.

 

The Prizes


The winning photographer received R10 000 cash from Cape Town Tourism.

Second prize was two nights’ accommodation for two people at the Slangkop Hoerikwaggo Tented Camp, courtesy of South African National Parks.

The four Hoerikwaggo Tented Camps within Table Mountain National Park (Slangkop, Silvermine, Orange Kloof and Smitswinkel) are situated in unrivalled natural surroundings and each offer a unique experience.

Each camp accommodates twelve people and offers hot water, comfortable beds (own bedding required), open fires, fully equipped self-catering communal kitchens/dining areas and communal bathrooms.

How to enter


Participants needed to join the Cape Town. Live it. Love it. Flickr group and upload their photographs. These images were to be tagged ‘winter2011’.

Entries closed at 12h00 on Thursday, June 30, 2011.

Judging

A public voting process is now in place to determine the top 10 photos. Voting closed at 12h00 on Monday, July 25.

A panel will then select the winning image from the top 10. The winner was announced on August 1, 2011.

Rules


1. Photos MUST include people. Images without people will not be considered.

2. Photos must be taken within one of the following areas: Cape Town city centre, Atlantic Seaboard, Southern Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Cape Flats, Helderberg, Blaauwberg and the Cape Peninsula. See our maps page for more information.

3. All entries may be featured on Cape Town Tourism’s website (they will be attributed to the photographer) and the winning entry may be featured in various campaigns to promote Cape Town as a destination.

4. You may submit as many photos as you like, but please do not submit similar versions of the same image.
