Warm Winter Classics and Feast Menu at Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel

Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel’s Planet Restaurant will help you through winter with a menu of hearty, traditional and classic dishes.

The Winter Feast Special offers a wide choice of modern mezze, antipasti and fritto misto as starters, or opt for Chef Rudi Liebenberg’s famous South African Cheese Fondue.

For mains, the choice is yours once more: Laingsburg lamb neck, linefish, grilled chicken breast and tortellini or mushroom risotto. The Winter Feast Special costs R325 per person.

Also this winter, by popular demand, Planet Restaurant re-introduces two great classics. The Beef Wellington, with a twist, is back – braised beef short rib, mushroom duxelle and optional Schwarzwald ham. Carved at your table, the Beef Wellington is a feast for the eye. It comes with béarnaise sauce and a chef’s salad and costs R580 to share. *

Not in a meat or cheese fondue mood? Then you might like to indulge in a Valrhona Chocolate Fondue. Dip in profiteroles, marshmallows and strawberries –  please do leave your scale at home. The Valrhona Chocolate Fondue is R365 to share.
