Federica is an Italian born woman, who has lived in Cape Town for many years. After traveling around the world and learning different languages, she has decided to settle in South Africa and open her language school LINGO, in Cape Town where she teaches Italian to South Africans and English to Italians.
In between, she has managed to write a novel, set between Italy and South Africa, called Afritalian, published in April 2017.
AfriItalian presents a hilarious look into Cape Town’s mix of Italian and local cultures, languages and the city itself – all from a ‘European’ point of view. Federica herself describes her book as “a book about a geographical, linguistic, cultural trip to Italy from South Africa and vice versa”.
