The Blaauwberg region is one of the fastest-growing areas in the Western Cape and is the gateway to the Cape West Coast. The area encompasses 48km of sandy white beaches and is perhaps best known for its spectacular views of Table Mountain across Table Bay.
The area is renowned for its beautiful beaches and Big Bay is hugely popular for surfing – for all levels – and kite surfing, with the Red Bull King of the Air competition an annual highlight. The views of Table Mountain and Robben Island from Big Bay are also incredible and on a clear day you will not get a better shot of the iconic attractions.
Other must-dos in the area include, a walk or cycle through the Koeberg Nature Reserve, a 4×4 adventure through the Atlantis Dunes, a visit to the Hillcrest Wine and Olive Estate and sundowners at Eden on the Bay, just off Big Bay.
