Cape Town high on Lonely Planet’s List

Lonely Planet has named Cape Town as the second must-see destination on their Best in Travel 2017 Cities list.

Followed by Bordeaux in France, Cape Town is second on the list of “magical metropolises rising to the top” thanks to our cultural and culinary cred, natural charms and global outlook of the city and its citizens. The addition of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), the world’s largest museum of contemporary African art, set to open its doors in September 2017, also added to Cape Town’s long list of credentials.

The full list of the Lonely Planet’s suggested 2017 bucket list looks like this:

Bordeaux, France
Cape Town, South Africa
Los Angeles, USA
Mérida, Mexico
Ohrid, Macedonia
Pistoia, Italy
Seoul, South Korea
Lisbon, Portugal
Moscow, Russia
Portland, USA

Canada scored the top spot on their best countries to visit 2017 list, while Choquequirao, Peru, was named as the top region. Fingers crossed Cape Town will score the top spot on the cities list in 2018!
