Western Cape Tours
Western Cape Tours was born out of a desire to let others experience the beauty and splendor that Cape Town and the Western Cape have to offer.Allan Theron is a registered tour guide with a total of 13 years’ experience in the tourism sector, serving hundreds of visitors to South Africa. For the last four years he has been directly involved with international and local clients, and has a good understanding of how the tourism industry works and assessing clients' requirements.Allan worked on the movie Safe House with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds that was filmed in Cape Town in 2011. He looked after Swedish actor Fares Fares and did most of the tours for the producers, directors and actors while they were in Cape Town.At the 2011 SA Tourism Welcome Awards, Western Cape Tours won the Overall Best Operator Award, as well as the award for operators operating less than five years.Allan has worked for a number of companies over the years as a freelance tour guide, chauffeur and chaperone, as well as for four years in the car hire industry. The tours covered Cape Town, Cape Point, the Cape Winelands, Hermanus and the Garden Route, during which time he gained extensive knowledge about the area.Allan was fortunate enough to work with Eurobiker Luxembourg and put together the Eurobiker 2009/2010 Ride of Cultures tour to South Africa, which took place from December 26, 2009, to January 9, 2010.The chauffeur work involved everything from driving executives on their roadshows, to driving a limousine for weddings, matric dances, promotions and competitions. He also worked as a chaperone in the movie industry, looking after actors, actresses, directors, producers and agency staff, as well as liaising between the production house and the client. The latest movie he worked on was Invictus where he looked after one of the producers..Through all these experiences, what stood out most was that client satisfaction is of utmost importance. He believes that the clients' experience should far outweigh their expectations, and strives to make that a part of everyday life.

I holiday with my husband (the reluctant traveller) and we undertook A Grand Tour of South Africa in September 2011. We were both immediately amazed and stunned by the beauty and magnificence of the varied land and seascapes. Whether it was flora or fauna, we were staggered by the diversity of this - the Rainbow Nation. Our private national roadtrip was conducted by Allan and from the moment of our meeting we knew we had struck gold. Allan is a very tall South African from Cape Town which was especially useful when following him through the busy and bustling Old Biscuit Mill Market on a Saturday in Cape Town. You can spot him head and shoulders above the crowd. He is an attentive and extremely knowledgeable guide whose sole purpose is to allow his clients to remain relaxed and sublimely contented by offering an unprecedented flexibility especially where an otherwise potentially prescriptive itinerary may be concerned. He expertly considers, suggests, advises and then makes happen your smallest wish or dream. His attention to detail, his manner, humour and politeness speak volumes for this native South African. Allan is a passionate man who loves his country deeply and simply wishes to share his passion for all things indigenous. He is an excellent wildlife photographer with an expert knowledge of the life and geography of his beloved country. I know that as our roadtrip progressed we were transformed from clients into firm friends. Nothing is too much trouble for this big-hearted man whose other passions include Top Gear, motorbikes, a dislike of BMW and the red ones in Maynards Wine Gums! Allan made our first trip to South Africa supremely memorable. He introduced us to the many and varied sights whilst engenderingnot only a desire to return but a similar passion for his homeland. If you are considering visiting this beautiful and largely undiscovered country, speak to Allan first about the sorts of unusual and original things he can guide you to whether it be wide open spaces, vineyards, seascapes, spectacular mountain ranges or just deserted beaches. The possibilities are endless in South Africa and Allan deserves to be your expert friendly guide. I cannot commend his services highly enough. We shall never forget our adventure to this jewel in the southern hemisphere. We WILL return thanks to the expert knowledge which Allan imparted and our accumulated experiences and Western Cape Tours will be our first port of call in Cape Town. The YOU who leaves South Africa will be an infinitely better person that the YOU who arrives. Your dreams are set to become a reality with Allan's expert assistance.

"We had the good fortune to have Allan drive us from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth in July 2010 via Oudtshoorn and Knysna. He suggested a number of things for us to do along the way, and all of his suggestions were spot-on. He was very knowlegeable and engaging. He is also a superb photographer. The USB key of photographs he provided at the end of our time together contained one of the best pictures (and smiles) of my daughter that I have ever seen (riding an ostrich at Oudtshoorn). We were in South Africa for two weeks, and Allan was an integral part of our trip of a lifetime. Many Thanks!"
