Join Southern Right Charters for close encounters with gentle giants of the ocean. Southern Right Charters departs daily, weather permitting, from our private floating jetty in Hermanus, the capital of the Whale Coast. Our memorable whale-watching trips are informative and educational. We mostly encounter southern right whales, seals, penguins and marine birds, and often see dolphins, humpack and Bryde’s whales on many of our trips. We are licensed to go within 50m of the whales, but being curious creatures they usually come right up to the vessel. Be prepared for a magical experience, and one that you will treasure for years to come. Miroshca, the well-appointed, purpose-built catamaran, provides superior stability for passenger comfort. The 70-seater vessel has four different levels, allowing passengers the best viewing opportunities and enclosed areas for protection from sea spray and weather conditions.

Whale Watching Trips

Experience a close encounter with the gentle giants of the ocean by joining us on an informative and educational whale watching trip. WHALE SEASON The whale season runs from June to December, annually The exact date all depends when the star performers arrive and depart. DURATION The whale watching tour is from 1hr 30m - 3hrs maximum. It depends on travelling time to the whales on that trip; the time spent with them is the same. The Duration of trip (is) normally averages at 2 hours. Arrival time is 30 minutes prior to departure for our on land briefing by our Whale Specialist

We went last year with Southern Right Charters whale watching in the afternoon. It was fab. The staff and crew are very helpful and knowledgable. we saw 5 or 6 whales, some of them with young. The highlight was them playfully breaching. You get a drink and small snack onboard in with the price, which is a really nice touch. I would recomend them to anyone.

The Southern Right Charters Crew took me out last year for an AMAZING experience. They really went out their way to ensure all guests were happy, their boat is incredibly comfortable, and the whale sightings were something else. My highlight of the trip without doubt.
