We had the misfortune of going on Mr Foster's Napier Wagon trail. We paid close to R4k for 3 days and 2 nights traveling and sleeping on a Horse-drawn Wagon for our family of 5. Marlene was to be out trail-boss. The first night was to be spent at a campsite, we arrived at the expected time. We were met with chaos, nothing was ready, not enough wood, no ice, dirty bathroom. Some of the staff were drunk. We spent the night, went out on the carriage the next day, but cut our stay short. In summary: The food was rubbish, prepared with scant attention to hygiene (dirty hands, smoking, a rat running around) The experience on the wagon was frightening and down-right dangerous. The horses drawing the wagons seemed unable to pull the load. There was mechanical failure of one of the clips attaching the horses to the carriage, this almost led to an accident. This was probably due to basic safety checks not having been performed prior to our departure. We left straightaway, we asked for a refund, none has been forthcoming. These are amateurs that you don't want to entrust with your safety or comfort. Without a doubt, the worst holiday experience I've ever had
