5 Day Garden Route Tour
Nature and wildlifeExperience South Africa’s Garden Route including all the breathtaking natural wonders packed with adventure. Highlights include 2 x Big 5 Animal safari Game Drives, Cango Caves, Ostrich Farm, Addo Elephant National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park, Knysna (South Africa’s favourite town), Bungy jumping and Whale watching (seasonal). Departs on Mondays. Day 1 Depart Cape Town at 6am and head up to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo semi desert area and also the ostrich capital of Depart Cape Town at 6am and head up to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo semi desert area and also the ostrich capital of the World. This drive follows the world famous Route 62 and we'll stop at Ronnie's sex shop en-route for a refreshing drink! We’ll visit the Cango Caves for a tour through this magnificent cave system and also visit an ostrich farm for a closer look at this enormous bird. You can even try yourluck at riding one! Tonight we’ll stay in Oudtshoorn and have a delicious ostrich braai for dinner. (Dinner) Day 2Leavig Oudtshoorn we'll cross the mountain range to the coast and the gorgeous Garden Route. Our first stop is the scenic 'map of Africa' lookout in the Wilderness and then we're off to Knysna (consistently voted as South Africa's favourite town). Here we will visit the Knysna Heads, Waterfront, markets and explore thoroughly. After Knysna we pass through Plettenberg Bay where we overnight in Storms River Village. (Breakfast, Dinner) Day 3 The magnificent Tsitsikamma National Park awaits us this morning. Thundering waves, thick forest, plentiful birdlife and otters, this National Park has it all! Walk the coastal route to the hanging bridge over Storms River Mouth and experience what makes this the most scenic park in South Africa. From here we'll head onto the Addo elephant National Park and your opportunity to spot huge elephant herds, various antelope species, dung beetles galore and more. Tonight we overnight at Avoca treehouse cabins which is a fabulous accommodation establishment situated on the banks of the Sundays River. (Breakfast, Dinner) Day 4 From the Eastern Cape (Avoca) we head back towards the Garden Route and to the World’s highest Bungy at Bloukrans (plenty of time to jump for those thrill seekers). This 216 m high bungy is a true marvel to behold, even for those that have a fear of heights! Our journey leads us to the Garden Route Game Lodge where we will also overnight in the luxury accommodation. We will do a late afternoon safari drive where we have the opportunity to view rhino, lion, buffalo, cheetah and many varieties of antelope species. A sumptuous and varied buffet dinner is served at the lodge and is yet another highlight! (Breakfast, Dinner) Day 5 We start the day early with a morning safari drive to see some of those animals that we did not see the previous evening. Hereafter we’ll do a cheetah walk with an experienced ranger and watch as they feed them. Departing round lunchtime we head towards Hermanus and the best land based whale watching site in the world (June-December). The Southern Right whales are making a dramatic comeback after nearly becoming extinct a mere 50 years ago. We return to Cape Town late afternoon via the stunning False Bay coastline where with luck we’ll see some dolphins to welcome us home. 4 Day Garden Route Tour
Nature and wildlifeThe Garden Route is a little piece of heaven tucked away on the East Coast of South Africa. Our tour incorporates the highlights of the area along with the splendid scenery. This is perfect for those who don’t have much time but wish to experience the famous Garden Route along with many of its activities…. Departs on Thursdays & Fridays. Day 1 Our route takes us via Route 62, traveling inland over the Overberg Region of the Western Cape. We also visit Ronnie's Sex Shop! Afterwards we continue our way to Oudtshoorn which is South Africa’s Ostrich Capital. This town hosts the well-known Cango Caves which is a National Monument. Tonight we stay in Oudtshoorn. (D) Day 2 After an early morning breakfast we shall visit the local Ostrich farm and you can even try your luck at riding one! We head to Knysna for lunch and to explore the Knysna heads. An optional extra is visiting the Knysna Elephant Park, where you have the opportunity to touch, feed and walk with earths largest land mammals! Yet another optional extra is an ocean Safari - spotting dolphins and Whales from a boat in Plettenberg Bay! We will make a quick stop en route at Bloukrans Bungy, which is the highest bungy in the world, at 216m!! Tonight we stay in Storms River Village. (B;D) Day 3 Today we head through to Tsitsikamma National Park for a hike to the ever famous Storms River mouth - walk on the recently finished Hanging Bridge, where we can take a dip in the Indian Ocean!! From here we head to the Garden Route Game Lodge where we can enjoy a Big 5 sunset game drive, fantastic buffet dinner and hot spring under the stars. We’ll also overnight in their award winning chalets. (B;D) Day 4 Early morning Game drive to see some animals you perhaps didn’t see the evening before followed by a scrumptious breakfast! After breakfast we will do a cheetah walk where the ranger feeds them and explains all about these magnificent animals. After the Cheetah walk, we make our way to Hermanus, which is famous for being the best land based whale watching site (in season) in South Africa and is a beautiful little town with wonderful Cliffside walks. Making our way back towards Cape Town, our last stop is at Stony Point where we visit the local penguin Colony – making our way back with spectacular views over False Bay. 3 Day Garden Route and private island experience
Nature and wildlifeDay 1: Our route takes us to the most Southern tip of the African continent, Cape Agulhas! We visit the lighthouse between the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Hereafter we make our way inland to Oudtshoorn where we explore the Cango Caves which is a very popular destination! We have an option of visiting the Cango Wildlife Ranch or the local Ostrich farm, or an elephant riding experience with these gentle giants! Tonight we have a traditional Ostrich “Braai” (Dinner) Day 2: After breakfast we head into the Garden Route Wilderness. We go canoeing on the wilderness lagoon with plenty of bird life and breath-taking scenery. We’ll explore SA’s favourite town of Knysna, as well as the gorgeous views of the Knysna heads. Then it’s off to Bungy at the highest Bungy jump in the world for those brave enough! Tonight we shall spend the evening on a private Island outside Plettenberg Bay. A ferry comes to collect us, taking us to our private island that has a herd of Zebra’s roaming around! Treat yourself to a sunset champagne cruise on the river! Dinner shall be served in the centre of the island with great views over the lagoon! (Breakfast, Dinner) Day 3: Today we have the option of going on an Ocean Safari by boat spotting various whale & dolphin species as well as hammerhead sharks if you’re lucky! For those thrill seekers there is also an option of flying a glider plane over the ocean viewing the whales & dolphins from just above the waves. Our tour concludes back in Cape Town in the early evening. 2 Day Safari Tour
Nature and wildlifeDay 1 Depart Cape Town at 5am and head up to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo semi desert area. This drive follows the world famous Route 62 and we'll stop at Ronnie's sex shop en-route for a refreshing drink! We’ll visit the Cango Caves for a tour through this magnificent cave system and also visit The Wildlife Ranch for an opportunity to touch cheetahs and lion cubs. Thereafter, we make our way towards the Garden Route Game Lodge. At this 4 Star lodge we shall do 2x Safari drives spotting elephant, rhino, giraffe, buffalo’s and many more animals. Tonight we stay in beautiful wooden chalets under the clear African skies! (Dinner incl.) Day 2: Join the early morning Safari drive to view many more animals in this large privately owned reserve. After breakfast we’ll visit the reptile and crocodile park and then make our way towards the coastal town of Hermanus. This is the best land based whale watching destination in the world (During whale season!) and the town is a delight to explore. Late afternoon we return to Cape Town via the beautiful coastal drive of False Bay. Hi there! I did a Garden Route Tour with BokBus few days ago! It was just amazing, fantastic guide which tell you a lot about SA and the Garden Route, beautiful accomodations with deliciuous food.
