The Pocket-Friendly Challenge

The Pocket-Friendly Challenge is here! The challenge is a friendly competition between four groups in six locations around Cape Town to see just how much R150 per person can get you in the Mother City.

Meet The Ongenda family, couple Wade & Waseem, friends Sibusiso, Sifiso and Zintle, and Ukrainian solo traveller Hannah, and watch as they’re genuinely amazed at just how much they can do on a budget.

Episode 1: Sea Point

In the first episode of the Pocket-Friendly Challenge, The Ongenda family meets Hannah, a solo traveller from Ukraine, and together they explore the relaxed, cosmopolitan, and family-friendly Promenade in Sea Point. Watch the amazing day they had for R150 per person!

Episode 2: Langa

In the second episode of the Pocket-Friendly Challenge, twins Sifiso and Sibusiso meet with the friend Zintle to discover the unique community of Langa. Catch drumming, history and a very special vibe as they discover the area for R150 per person!

Episode 3: Kalk Bay

The third episode of the Pocket-Friendly Challenge is here and the Ongenda family are not holding back when it comes to having an awesome day! Strolling along the seaside, lunch at the harbour, and meeting a special animal friend for less than R150 per person. Who wants to join?

Episode 4: Kirstenbosch

Episode four of the Pocket-Friendly Challenge has couple Wade and Waseem meet up with Ukrainian solo traveller Hannah to have an adventure in the paradisical Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Watch as they spend the day out in nature and grab an epic lunch for less than R150 per person.

Episode 5: Blouberg

In episode five of the Pocket-Friendly Challenge, couple Wade and Waseem, and twins Sifiso, Sibusiso with their friend Zintle head to Blouberg for fun in the sun. Surf lessons, bargains and a picnic on one of the most picturesque beaches in the Cape? Count us in!

Episode 6: Athlone

In the sixth and final episode of the Pocket-Friendly Challenge, Zintle and the twins, Sifiso and Sibusiso, head to Athlone to try out the area’s legendary street food. You haven’t truly visited Cape Town until you’ve had a Gatsby or tried the original Wembley Whopper.
